A SCOTTISH gin entrepreneur has won an award for a proposal for a new company and distillery.

Andrew Clark Hutchison was awarded the Guy and Co-creation Award for Dark Art Gin brand and distillery in Kirkcudbright.

Hutchison is a former banker who spent 12 years of his career specialising in the food and drink sector.

The plan includes creating a distillery to open in 2019, with a visitor experience centre and shop in the derelict old Johnston School.
