THE National's front page has gone viral after the paper refused to report on Theresa May's visit to Scotland.

May banned reporters from The National from attending and asking questions during her brief visit to the Bridge of Weir leather company; so brief, in fact, that many locals had no idea she was even in the area.

This wasn't the first time in recent weeks that The National had been locked out of opportunities to hold Theresa May's Government to account. Just two weeks ago, our reporters were also denied access to speak with May’s de-facto deputy David Lidington.

The decision was made that, if the Prime Minister wasn't willing to speak to us, then we weren't willing to publish what she had to say.

The response to our front page has been incredible.

While discussing our cover, Sky News commentators declared that May's actions had been "Trumpesque" and ultimately an "own goal".

Of course, it wasn't just Sky News talking about the front page. Here's a few more of the reactions to it.

If you support a free press in Scotland, why not give it a share yourself?
