THIS coming Saturday sees the second Gathering organised by the National Yes Registry which will take place in the Albert Halls in Stirling from 10am.

Given the success of the first Gathering, it was inevitable that the organisers would want to host a second event which will focus on reframing the independence narrative and which will also feature the Growth Commission report.

The registry stated: “Following the success of Gathering#1 last May, this national meeting of Yessers will focus on reframing independence and how we win indyref2.

“It is also where parameters of the official grassroots consultation on the Growth Commission will be set, results of which will be delivered to the SNP prior to their 2019 Spring Conference.”

Gathering#2 organiser Jason Baird said: “Given the ongoing car crash that is Brexit and the speed of developments around it, we need to be fully prepared as soon as the referendum is called.

“This is urgent – we must get ourselves ready as a grassroots movement, so come and help decide what is collectively needed to win indyref2.”

“Learning about reframing is vital to winning the broader support that we need. Developing the best and most efficient techniques to persuade others of our position is crucial.”

“We need to be able to put forward our arguments in effective ways to increase support and boost confidence among those that need it, if we are to win the majority over to our shared cause – which is Scotland. This is about working together to achieve what is best for our nation’s future.”

The Registry added: “As well as the critical lessons in how to reframe, this Gathering is also your chance to help set parameters for the official grassroots consultation on the Growth Commission.”

Janey MacDonald, event organiser, said: “This is the very first grassroots-run consultation to be officially sanctioned by any Scottish Government. It’s a historic moment for Yes, so come and add your voice.”

Gathering#2 will also see the launch of the newly-completed IndyApp 2.0, downloadable from November 24 onward. These brand new IndyApp secure forums will publish all event discussions and allow every interested group member across the country to participate in the table topics and consultations as they develop.

Guests participating include Keith Brown MSP, the SNP’s depute leader in charge of indyref2 campaign, Bill Mills and Dr June Maxwell holding reframing seminar and discussions; and Growth Commission authors Jim Mather and Roger Mullin giving a short presentation available to the discussion group tables.

The National Yes Registry concluded: “Most important of all, however, are the Gathering participants themselves, who will document and present their discussions and findings of the day.”

"Looking forward to seeing you."
