The Proclaimers have announced four special concerts for 2019, and one of them is a return to Edinburgh Castle.

The iconic Scottish band will be playing at Melrose, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow next summer.

Melrose Rugby Club will be first, with the brothers playing on June 15th. Inverness Bught Park is next on June 6th. Both gigs will take place in a big top tent.

On July 20th the band will be on their way to Edinburgh Castle, which they last played in 2008.

The final show will take place on September 14th at Glasgow's Hydro.

Craig and Charlie Reid said: "We are looking forward immensely to coming home during the summer for four major Scottish shows. The atmosphere in Scotland is unique and the whole band looks forward to the concerts.

"It's our first major show in the Borders for several years, great to be returning to Bught Park and the Highlands audience, our first show back in the Castle for many years and also going back to the Hydro and closing our Angry Cyclist World tour with the final show in Glasgow."

Mark Mackie, director of promoters Regular Music, added: "It's great news that The Proclaimers are coming out next summer, covering the country from north to south and east to west with these four very special shows for Scotland."

The Proclaimers are currently on their biggest ever sell out tour that began in July of this year and will end in September 2019.
