MORAY Offshore Windfarm has signed a £10 million contract with the Port of Cromarty Firth to use it for windfarm construction.

The 18-month contract will allow the firm, known as Moray East, to use the port for turbine component storage and for pre-assembly facilities. Oscar Diaz, Moray East’s project director, said: “This will be the hub of the project during construction.”

Port chief executive, Bob Buskie, added: “This is a major success for Scotland and the Highlands in particular.”
