The Great British Bake Off: The Final (C4, 8pm)

LAST year, Prue Leith managed to take some of the tension out of The Great British Bake Off final by inadvertently tweeting the name of the winner before the episode aired. The three remaining bakers prepare to battle it out for the title. First, they’ll be tackling a doughnut-based signature challenge. Then the contestants will be given a deceptively simple technical but with the twist that they won’t be baking it in the tent. Finally they will be creating intricate, multi-layered, edible landscape showstoppers in a bid to prove they should be crowned Bake Off champion.

The Yorkshire Vet (C5, 8pm)

PETER Wright is called out to help a ewe whose labour is worsening. Colleague Julian Norton has 50 little goats to disbud, so that they don’t injure themselves or each other. However, Doris the kid is playing hide-and-seek. In Skeldale, Peter has an extreme operation to perform on border terrier cross Poppy. Bone cancer has been spreading through one of her legs and the only hope of saving her is to remove the limb. Devoted owners Brian and Carole want to give her every chance to live but how will she recover?

Informer (BBC1, 9pm)

RAZA uncovers a promising new lead but the toll of his double life begins to weigh heavily on him as he attends Yousef’s funeral seeking information. The CTSU members continue to follow up all leads, including an unexpected tip that prompts them to follow an Albanian crime family, the Gramos. Gabe runs into a ghost from his past and his behaviour piques Holly’s interest and, noticing a change in his older brother, Nasir follows Raza and inadvertently makes a new friend on the Bridge Town Estate.

The Fires That Foretold Grenfell (BBC2, 11.15pm)

THE haunting story of five fires that came before the Grenfell disaster, told through the eyes of those directly involved and filmed over 12 months by Jamie Roberts. The film collates the memories of survivors, the bereaved, firefighters, safety experts and the politicians linked to five fire disasters that preceded Grenfell, showing the warnings that existed and may have predicted a Grenfell-type inferno happening in Britain. The programme focuses on three factors: The application of flammable material and cladding to buildings, the “stay put” advice given by fire services and the absence of sprinklers.
