SCOTTISH Green MSP Mark Ruskell has called for a complete ban on blood-sports after the glee expressed by Larysa Switlyk on shooting a feral goat. The language she used is abominable to say the least: “We hunted hard for a

big one ... Made a perfect 200 yard shot and dropped him with the @gunwerksand @nightforce_optics!”

What one must avoid in condemning this activity is to use the word “sport”. Hunting and shooting for pleasure is not a sport. A so-called blood-sport is a contradiction in itself. And to gloat over the killing of an animal is reprehensible.

This approach to so-called conservation is unacceptable. Switlyk used the term “cultural experiences” in connection with this vile activity. That speaks volumes for the warped sense of values she expounds.

IF an American “Hardcore Huntress” is shooting goats on Islay, what will she do when she returns home? Should the POTUS and other horny animals take cover?
