THE Sunday National is campaigning on plastic packaging – and we need your input. Our readers over the past few weeks have told us about some of the wasteful and excessive packaging you’ve seen in shops and from online shopping deliveries. But we want to hold retailers and manufacturers to account.

If you have an example of excessive plastic packaging on something you buy or see in a shop over the next week please take a picture and send it to us. We’ll be picking three examples from our readers to investigate next weekend.

It could be fruit that’s been individually wrapped, electricals that have come swathed in plastic packaging, or a toy encased in layers of plastic and cardboard. It would also be great to hear what you’ve decided not to buy because of the plastic packaging – what alternatives have you found, and what do you think supermarkets and manufacturers could do to let you shop without the waste.

You can send your pictures to letters@thenational.scot, with "Plastic waste" as the subject.
