OLDER performers from across Scotland’s central belt and Japan are joining forces with young people’s theatre company Junction 25 for two performances of a new piece exploring ageing.

Mixing film, music and performance to explore stories about life in our middle and later decades, the piece – which was moved from the CCA to the Tramway – has been devised by The Flames, a performance company for people aged 50 and over.

The work – taking place today – also features the voices of older people from Japan, and is choreographed by Glasgow-based Japanese artist Aya Kobayashi as well as being directed by Fiona Miller of Tricky Hat Productions.

“They are a country leading the way in terms of their support for an ageing society, which we will become in 25 years,” says Miller.

Oct 13, Tramway, Glasgow, 3pm and 7pm, £5.50 to £7, tickets on the door (subject to availability). Online tickets: bit.ly/TramwayFlamesAutumn18 trickyhat.com
