BBC Proms 2018 BBC4, 7.30pm
KATIE Derham introduces a celebration of the tango from the Royal Albert Hall. The concert traces how the sultry genre originated in the bars of Buenos Aires in the late 19th century, but also found popularity in the rather less hot and steamy environs of 20th-century Finland. The performers include Pablo Ziegler on piano, Hector Del Curto on bandoneon, Claudio Ragazzi on guitar, Pedro Giraudo on double bass and Franco Pinna on drums.

Britain by Bike with Larry & George Lamb C5, 8pm
THE Lambs head for Snowdonia National Park, but high winds and an approaching storm bring things a halt halfway up Snowdon, forcing them to seek refuge in the Pen y Gwryd hotel, a venue that has given shelter to many notable explorers including Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. George arranges a visit to meet the world’s only llama display team, tackling an obstacle course. Larry takes George to try out some of the local sheep’s award-winning cheese, before the boys get to milk the ewes themselves.

Ancient Invisible Cities BBC2, 9pm
IN this new three-part series professor of classics and ancient history at the University of Warwick Michael Scott goes deep underground, using the latest laser-scanning technology and virtual reality to reveal the historical secrets of three great cities: Cairo, Athens and Istanbul. He and his team begin in the Egyptian capital, as they attempt to help us see this city as no human eye ever could. Michael goes beneath the first pyramid ever built at Saqqara, near the entrance of the Nile Delta, which was one of the largest burial grounds in Egypt and in use for more than 3000 years, which remains mostly unexcavated.

NEW series. The fly-on-the-wall series turning the cameras on TV’s most vocal armchair critics returns, as the show’s regular gaggle of families, friends and viewing acquaintances settle down to share their thoughts on what they have been watching from the comfort of their own sofas. As usual, the programmes include comedy, drama, news, sport and politics.
