THE final route for the All Under One Banner march and rally for independence in Dundee next Saturday has been approved by Dundee City Council and Police Scotland.

AUOB has asked all those who intend to march to gather early at Baxter Park for a departure at 12.45pm prompt. Participants will include the Yes Bikers as well as pipers and drummers, with attendees asked to bring flags and banners.

The route is as follows: Baxter Park (via the South West gates), Arbroath Road A929, Princes Street A929, King Street, Panmure Street, Meadowside, Albert Square, Reform Street, High Street, Nethergate, Marketgate A991, Nethergate, Perth Road, Roseangle and Magdalen Green.

Speakers at the rally will be named next Saturday morning. In the meantime, AUOB have asked people intending to be at the event to let them know on the official Facebook page.

Also next Saturday, Edinburgh Women for Independence (EWFI) are looking for fresh ideas for events and activities for 2018.

The group told us recently that after just short of four happy years at Serenity Cafe, they are moving to a new home in Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, at the corner of Annandale Street and Haddington Place.

They said: “Come and join the first meeting in the new venue as the group continues to help shape the indy landscape.

“EWFI will continue to meet on the third Saturday of every month from 2pm-4pm.

“The building is fully accessible and has a great cafe,” they added.
