SCOTLAND is set to be hit by another heatwave this week and Tennent’s Lager has come up with a solution for office workers stuck indoors.
The beer company is offering Edinburgh businesses the chance to go “al desko” at the Three Sisters bar in the Cowgate tomorrow.
The 48-seater beer garden has been made-over into an alternative working space, with wifi and plugpoints – and even a pub lunch plus a beer after 5pm.
“It’s been the best summer Scotland’s had in decades,” said Rhona Fyfe of Tennent’s, “but not for those of us who’ve been trapped indoors working. So, we decided it was literally time to bring a little al fresco sunshine to those who’ve missed out.”
“We’ll have everything in place
to make sure it’s the best day at work ever, all you need is to bring your own laptop and we’ll take
care of the rest – except for getting your boss to agree. But happy workers are said to be more productive, so hopefully they’ll see the brighter side too.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
