The National:

IT appears that the University of Reading has been getting criticism for its plan to give scholarships out to refugees in the local area.

The university will provide up to 14 of the schemes in partnership with Reading Refugee Support Group.

These will cover such things as tuition fees for pre-sessional English 11-week programmes and Foundation, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Taught study.

Now most of us would welcome these kinds of things, you know providing aid to disadvantaged groups in the area.

But it seems the university has received some negative feedback. They had the perfect response though:

 We applaud you.
