THE families of two fishermen who died in a sea loch have paid tribute after their bodies were recovered.

Duncan MacDougall and Przemek Krawczyk were on board the Nancy Glen when it capsized in Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute on January 18.

The alarm was raised by a third fisherman who was pulled from the water by the crew of a passing boat.

A specialist lifting barge brought the vessel to the surface on Thursday and their bodies were recovered.

Relatives of both men have since paid tribute through the Clyde Fishermen’s Association, giving thanks to all who have help them and with the recovery.

Gosla Krawczyk, Przemek’s wife, said her loss had “left a space no-one else can ever fill”.

She added: “It has been the longest, hardest, saddest and most traumatic 12 weeks of our lives.

“I have lost my husband, my love, my best friend and my children have lost their amazing father. My family and I are mixed with emotions at this moment in time. It is impossible to put into words the effect the loss of Przemek has had on our family. For us, we will forever remember his unconditional love, humanity and sacrifices he made to provide for the family that meant the world to him.”

The relatives of MacDougall said in their statement: “The MacDougall family wish to thank everyone who helped bring Duncan and his fellow fisherman Prezmek back home to rest in Tarbert. They recognise the incredible efforts, skill and generosity of the public and the professionals involved and give their unconditional thanks to all who done their best to help.”
