The final timetable and line-up of speakers has been confirmed for today’s workshop organised by Yes2 Edinburgh and other independence groups in the Lothians such as Yes Pentland.

Participants from across the Lothians have confirmed their attendance at what is hoped to be the first of many such sessions.

The event in the Waterside Social Club at 26 Inglis Green Road in the capital will see National columnist and former MP George Kerevan give the keynote speech, before morning and afternoon sessions of workshops and seminars on subjects ranging from the media and public relations to campaign strategy and audience engagement.

Iain Black will chair the event while National journalist Martin Hannan, a veteran of 40 years in journalism and public relations, will be the facilitator for the media and PR sessions. Jason Baird will talk on the National Yes Registry and Indyapp, and there will be a short presentation on Truly Scottish TV by Alex Earlie. The organisers say the event aims “to bring together local grassroots, campaigners, group members and supporters from across the Lothians to prepare and strategise for a second referendum on Scottish independence”.

In a plea for party politics and other vital matters to be left outside the meeting, co-ordinator Lindsay McCrea said: “We will aim to concentrate on how the Yes movement is going to go about achieving independence.”
