THE organisers of a music festival have launched the event with the creation of a guitar that plays songs from the artists featured.

The Magners Summer Nights festival, kicked off yesterday with the unveiling of a unique interactive sculpture ahead of a live set from Fife songster King Creosote at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand.

Mounted on a bicycle frame, the ten-foot long 6Stringer Guitar - which is made from 800 empty Magners cans - plays tracks from artists performing at the festival, including The Flaming Lips, The Waterboys, Ben Folds, Joan Armatrading and Glasvegas.

Fans are invited to tweet @MagnersUK using the hashtag #6Stringer and guess the artist.

Magners Summer Nights runs in Glasgow until Sunday and 13 to 15 August in Edinburgh.
