CUSTOMERS of a Glasgow shopping centre have raised nearly £27,000 for the city’s Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC).

Buchanan Galleries shoppers donated £26,802.42 across December, smashing last year’s Christmas total by 76 per cent. This ensures the 168,000 babies, children and young patients at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow can receive the best care and experience possible.

The funds were raised through a programme of activities in the centre throughout December, including choir performances, Santa meet-and-greets, a gift-wrapping service and pop-up gift shop.

The bumper December donations brings the charity’s total raised in Buchanan Galleries throughout 2017 to more than £37,500.

Kathy Murdoch, centre manager at Buchanan Galleries praised the charity.

“GCHC provides a fantastic service for children across the city and beyond, and we are delighted to support their work,” she said.
