FRASER Fyvie is looking to make it a rare cup final medal double when Hibernian take on Rangers at Hampden on Saturday.
The 23-year-old midfielder has an FA Cup winners’ medal on display at home from his trip to Wembley with Wigan Athletic in 2013.
Fyvie was on the Latics’ bench against Manchester City and was ready to go on for impending extra-time only to be stood down by boss Roberto Martinez when fellow substitute Ben Watson scored a dramatic and historic stoppage-time winner.
The former Aberdeen player, who joined the Leith club in 2015, is hoping to make more of a contribution at Hampden Park against the Championship winners as he targets a William Hill Scottish Cup winners’ medal. He said: “It would be great. Obviously I didn’t make an appearance that day with Wigan. I was actually coming on and got sat back down.
“We scored the winning goal and he told me to sit back down which was quite funny. It was a great occasion, it was fantastic.
“And playing with great players like Gary Caldwell, Shaun Maloney, James McArthur and James McCarthy was a great learning curve for me.
“The FA Cup medal is hanging up in the house with the shirt and hopefully on Saturday I can add another medal to my name. That would be brilliant. Hopefully I can get my name on the team sheet and give it a right good go. All the lads will be right up for it.”
