GREAT Britain internationalist Gareth Murray and Ali Fraser have emerged as Glasgow Rocks’ two top summer targets as they bid to mount a challenge for the BBL title, writes Mark Woods.

With coach Sterling Davis set to agree a new deal at the Emirates Arena, bringing the Scots stars back to the club has been marked as the American’s first priority.

Arbroath-born Murray has led Angers to this weekend’s French League play-off finals while Falkirk-born Fraser spent the current campaign with Dutch outfit Leeuwarden.

“We want to keep the best Scottish talent here,” Davis admitted. “Both Gareth and Ali have been here before. And we don’t want to see the best Scottish players going elsewhere in the BBL.”

The Rocks only have GB captain Kieron Achara under contract for next term despite positive discussions with a number of the side that reached the BBL Playoff semi-finals earlier this month.

And although Fraser has begun initial talks to stay in the Netherlands, he hasn’t ruled out a Rocks return.

“I would definitely be open to it,” the forward confirmed. “It would be good to go back healthy and actually be able to play more than one game.”
