Readers of this fine organ may have noticed something a little unusual on page five of yesterday’s paper.

There was the Queen meeting Nicola Sturgeon. All smiles. Pals together. That business with the crown estate and the Scots denying her privy purse keeper some bawbees? In the past. All done.

But that wasn’t what was unusual.

Eagle-eyed reader Iain Patterson from East Linton noticed was the slightly unusual symbol on the Queen’s handbag.

That angular bunny-head-like shape could, just about, almost be the symbol of the SNP.

The Queen’s always been very subtle when it comes to politics. Remember last year when she said she hoped Scots would think very carefully about how they vote in the referendum?

Perhaps this was her giving the other side a wee boost.

Maybe it was all planned, and the SNP are about launch their own range of branded hand bags.
