LINDSAY Lohan is to turn on the Christmas Lights in Kettering after getting into a Brexit fight with a Tory MP.

The Mean Girls actress had upset the town’s MP Philip Hollobone last week during the referendum count.

When Kettering declared, Lohan tweeted: “#REMAIN Sorry, but #KETTERING where are you”

On Thursday morning during business questions in the Commons, Hollobone raised the tweet with Leader of the House, Chris Grayling.

Lohan should know Kettering, the Tory backbencher suggested.

“Apart from the fact that it might be the most average town in the country, everyone knows where Kettering is. It is famous as the home of Weetabix breakfast cereal,” Hollobone said.

He then went on to ask Grayling to support his invitation to Lohan “to come and switch on the Christmas lights in Kettering this year, thus redeeming her political reputation and raising money for good causes?”

Last night, the Parent Trap star tweeted Grayling and Hollobone: “Direct message me about your offer. Would be happy to light the Christmas tree in #Kettering.”

In response, Hollobone said the star “would be made very welcome”.
