THE UK’s flagship Ethical Christmas Fair comes to Edinburgh next week, offering shoppers the chance to help some of the world’s poorest people while buying gifts.

The fair, which runs at Ocean Terminal in Leith from November 28 to December 24, will feature exhibitors from Zambia, Kenya and India as well as across Scotland. Among the gift ideas on offer will be handcrafted leather bags and journals, scarves, soaps and original artworks.

The event will be officially opened by broadcaster and Fairtrade Ambassador Hardeep Singh Kohli at midday on Sunday November 29, with choir Edinburgh Got Soul Choir providing musical entertainment. This event provides shoppers the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts for friends and families and with the benefit each purchase supporting the people who make the products from some of the poorest countries. “We are delighted to have The Real Scottish and Ethical Christmas Fairs at Ocean Terminal this year, both will compliment the already incredible shopping experience available to shoppers at Ocean Terminal” say Tania Pramschufer, Hand Up Events
