SNP MP Hannah Bardell officially opened the new headquarters of Scotland’s biggest courier firm yesterday.

Originally based in two offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Eagle Couriers is now operating from a purpose-built facility in Bathgate, West Lothian.

The depot will provide a base for 100 drivers and support 20 local people into work as the firm pursues expansion plans.

The company currently has 3,500 clients including the NHS and the BBC, with drivers transporting engine parts, medical samples, sports footage and TV props.

The company also operates satellite depots in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
