A TINY private island with stunning beaches and a ruined hunting lodge nestled in an iconic Scottish loch has been put up for sale.
Inchmoan is around a mile long, just under 113 acres, and is one of the most recognisable islands in Loch Lomond.
Located at the Trossachs National Park in Argyll and Bute, Inchmoan gets its name from the people of Luss, the village adjacent to the secluded island, as it is a main source of peat fuel for fires.
Its sole 350m stunning white sand beach is the longest out of all the islands in the loch and is also home to an ancient woodland as well as a ruined hunting lodge.

The island is described as the “perfect spot” for a summer picnic and will set a potential buyer back a minimum of £895,000.
Inchmoan is just one of the 22 islands in Loch Lomond and there are a further 27 islets as well.
Loch Lomond, which is around 24 miles in length and the largest freshwater loch in Scotland, is a tourist hotspot and attracts all sorts of fishers, kayakers, boaters and cyclists.
Inchmoan is currently uninhabited and has no services running to the island but does have the spectacular backdrop of Ben Lomond and the Cobblers – a cluster of Munros.
Luss is just a short trip over the water and has local amenities like shops, pubs and restaurants.

Both Alexandria and Helensburgh are within a 15-minute drive from Luss and Glasgow is around 40 minutes away.
The listing for the island describes it as “a very special opportunity to acquire a private island, steeped in history, within one of Europe’s most renowned and beautiful expanses of water".
