A SCOTTISH golf club is on course for a tourism boost after being included in Golf World’s "Top 100 Society Venues".

The Woll Golf Course, part of the New Woll Estate in Ashirk, near Selkirk, has proudly announced its inclusion in the esteemed top 100 list for courses in Great Britain and Ireland.

The accolade is seen as marking a significant milestone in its history and will help attract "tourist golfers" from across the globe.

The course is renowned for its peaceful setting in the Ale Valley with breathtaking landscapes, impeccable design and now an unparalleled golfing experience.

In describing the course, a spokesperson for Golf World. the golfing bible, says: “A relatively new course (with on-site accommodation) that has very forward-thinking management.

“The parkland course is very playable and nicely maintained, with the 17th, its green surrounded by water, an absolute thrill coming home.”
