BORIS Johnson is set to travel to Scotland tomorrow after Cabinet concerns over rising support for independence.

UK Government ministers have repeatedly claimed that the pandemic has proved the worth of the Union – though analysis of recent opinion polling suggests large numbers of people in Scotland don’t see it that way.

The Prime Minister plans to tell Scottish voters that if they stick with the UK they will continue to benefit from “huge economic support".

His visit to Scotland is believed to be part of a planned tour of the UK nations in the coming weeks.

Scots on social media have criticised the move, with comedian Janey Godley condemning the fact Johnson is avoiding densely populated areas like Glasgow.
