THE latest poll revealing a majority of Scots now back independence has also given insight into which council areas of Scotland are now likely to support a Yes vote.
Ballot Box Scotland has examined the data sets to determine the strength of support for leaving the UK in council areas across the nation.

While the Highlands and Islands, Glasgow and much of the central belt hold a Yes majority, the Scottish borders remain an area with strong support for staying in the UK, as does Shetland and Orkney.
The Lord Ashcroft poll is the first to show a majority in support of independence since March 2017.
