PERHAPS somebody should be kind to Mr Mundell and let him know, quietly, that the only people that are actually successful using the “threats” of resignation as a political weapons to get their means are those that are truly liked.

This is not the case here, so he is really embarrassing himself and getting into a cul de sac – you cannot threaten forever with resigning. There has to come a time when your credibility will only survive if you actually resign.

I can picture Mr Mundell resigning and all the sudden jubilant cheers and dancing being heard and seen on every corner of Scotland. A bit like the cheers heard when the ants saw Flik from A Bug’s Life leaving the colony.

TO call Mundell a pawn would be an insult to a pawn. Who would even notice if he resigned? The worst and most ineffective Secretary of State for Scotland in history would sum him up perfectly.
