IT is good to know that many Yes groups appreciate the work that The National does in spreading the word about the independence movement.
The readers of many other newspapers will be very surprised when Scotland becomes independent but not our readers who are aware of the continued growth of the Yes movement as uniquely chronicled by the only newspaper that supports independence.
We do need your help, however, in circulating The National more widely and Yes Kirkcaldy have taken the initiative to assist us.

Dougie Grant of Yes Kirkcaldy told Yes Hub: “Following on from the launch event for the Sunday National, Yes Kirkcaldy decided that circulating The National around the area would be beneficial to the independence campaign and, of course, beneficial to the paper itself.
“As far as finances allow – these are from individual contributions of a fiver a week – we pre-order The National from a local newsagent and deliver on a Saturday morning.
“Thirty copies are delivered to previously identified predominantly No areas in Burntisland and a further 15 delivered to pubs and restaurants and barbers and hairdressers in Kirkcaldy Town Centre. The benefit of delivering to pubs, etc, is that more than one person will read the paper and spread the message more widely.”
That is sound logic and we can confirm a boost to our circulation in the area. Thanks, Yes Kirkcaldy.
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
