Blue Peter: Big 60th Birthday

The longest-running children’s television show in the world celebrates its birthday with a one-hour live special. Former presenters will be joining the current team for makes, games and a look back at some classic moments, while viewers will find out what’s going inside the Diamond Time Capsule. There’s also a guest appearance from Ed Sheeran and music from Blue Peter royalty Sophie Ellis-Bextor, the singer and daughter of former host Janet Ellis.

The Great British Bake Off

It’s Danish Week and the bakers face unfamiliar recipes as they battle to impress the judges. There’s a bread-themed Signature challenge, where they must demonstrate style as well substance. Paul Hollywood sets a spherical Technical and with a place in the semi-final at stake, everyone is out to impress Prue Leith and him. For their final challenge, the bakers must deliver an elaborate pastry Showstopper fit for a Danish birthday party. Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding guide us through proceedings before the latest baker is shown the exit.

Informer, BBC1, 9pm

After the success of Bodyguard comes another BBC thriller with a counter-terrorism angle. Informer stars newcomer Nabhaan Rizwan as Raza, a young, second-generation British-Pakistani man from east London, whose night out with his girlfriend takes a disastrous turn when he is arrested. The incident brings him to the attention of ambitious new counter-terrorism officer DC Holly Morten (rising star Bel Powley) and her partner, Detective Sergeant Gabe Waters (Hot Fuzz and The Suspicions of Mr Whicher’s Paddy Considine), who has a murky past and a pressing need to gain more information about a possible attack on London. So Holly decides to push a few ethical boundaries to recruit Raza as an informant.
