SHOULD we be laughing or crying at the comedy the Labour party has become?

Richard Leonard intends to fight the next election with a policy to refuse a second independence referendum. What gives him, or anyone for that matter, the authority to deny Scots their right to independence, whenever they decide to exercise that right? Isn’t that just a complete negation of the democracy they claim to support, verging on fascism?

Meanwhile, the erstwhile John McDonnell has pronounced Labour will not support a referendum on the Brexit deal if it includes an option to remain in the EU.

Doesn’t McDonnell realise that the whole Brexit mess was created by politicians of his ilk, and doesn’t it increasingly look like it will only be a public vote on the non-existent (and likely to remain so) deal that could reasonably clear up the Westminster Parliament’s mess?

Who knows when the madness consuming Labour will end. Perhaps the irony is that the only way for Scots to be free of this circus is the very independence Leonard would refuse us. Aren’t Leonard and McDonnell facilitating it?
