BARCELONA police are treating an attack on officers at a police station as a terrorist incident.

Commissioner Rafel Comes said officers shot the man dead after he entered the station in Cornella district and pulled out “a large knife”.

Police have found no evidence linking the incident to the 2017 terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, which killed 16 people.

Police are checking if ID documents belonging to the man are authentic while a search of his apartment has been planned.
