A FIFE councillor has been suspended from Scottish Labour while the party investigates comments she made over anti-Semitism.
Mary Lockhart was criticised after suggesting in a Facebook post that criticism of Labour's position on anti-Semitism could have been orchestrated by Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency.

She was commenting on the decision by three leading Jewish newspapers to describe as "sinister" the failure of the UK party to embrace the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism in its entirety, including a list of examples.
Lockhart, who represents the Lochgelly, Cardenden and Benarty ward, wrote on the social media site: "Following my suspension from the Labour Party to allow consideration of whether or not one of my Facebook posts breached the Labour Party's rules in respect of anti-Semitism, I have deleted the post.
"I will not be commenting further on this is any other matter until a judgement has been made.
"I remain a supporter of the Labour Party and of its current leadership."
A Labour Party spokesman said: "The Labour Party takes all complaints of anti-Semitism extremely seriously and we are committed to challenging and campaigning against it in all its forms.
"All complaints about anti-Semitism are fully investigated in line with our rules and procedures, and any appropriate disciplinary action is taken."
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
