THE SNP told Westminster it would no longer be "business as usual" when they pushed through the power grab with 15 minutes of the debate.
That was the case last night, as the SNP forced five divisions on government spending estimates during the England game.
MPs had to spend their time in voting lobbies rather than watching the football.
The Tories were outraged – but social media painted a more complete picture.

I called five divisions on the House tonight on vitality important anti austerity measures & in defence of the Scottish Government - Tories moaned about the time but the SNP will continue to pursue them in defence of Scotlandhttps://t.co/a1tEuawaeQ pic.twitter.com/WdZYZCRnTw

Apparently there is some football match on at the moment (who knew) and MPs are whining that the SNP are making them vote over hundreds of millions of pounds of government expenditure instead.

The Scots Nats calling one vote after another to keep English MPs from watching the football.

Did it bother you when the filibustering resulted in Scotland being cut out of the debate? MPs are there to represent their constituents, not watch football at the taxpayers expense.

Intriguing to see the SNP's opponents criticise them for doing their day job in parliament, rather than clearing off early to watch a game of football. Get the story straight, guys. Getting on with the day job: good or bad?

A lot of Tory MPs furious that the SNP is forcing them to stay in the Commons and vote through budget estimates instead of watching the big #ENGCOL match.

Guess you shouldn't have pissed them off by rail-roading the #Brexit #powergrab debate and then :D

Voting now for the fifth time against Tories’ austerity budget. Shame to be missing the match but the people who elected me would rightly be furious if I prioritised football over voting against the government.

To be clear, the estimates is the breakdown of UK Government spending by department. It’s our only chance to vote on UK Government spending. It’s not really obscure. https://t.co/dPYPuz5Gfc

Irony alert... Tories complaining about length of time we have taken to vote tonight. We want electronic voting!

Sounds to me like we’re seeing some of the promised SNP disruption tactics tonight. Source says tonight’s divisions in the Commons “holding the government to account” and opposing business “for acting against the consent of the Scottish Parliament”. Says more to come...

What about the people who programme these debates and will not consider for a moment the introduction of time saving electronic voting? https://t.co/9DUeBkx10h

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
