A SCOTTISH tech firm launched only last year has received major international recognition.

Miigen said it had been “catapulted into the ranks of truly global innovators”, after it was selected from thousands worldwide as one of the top five for Startup Grind’s 2018 start-up programme.

Stirling-based Miigen was launched in May last year, and is described as “the social platform for senior life living”, offering services such a digital time capsule.

It currently has 45,000 users.

Startup Grind, which supports start-ups in 120 countries and is powered by Google Entrepreneurs, selected the firm as one of its top five for its Europe Conference.

Craig J Lemmon, the co-founder of Miigen, is planning a £7.5 million funding round in America next year.

He said: “This international acclamation is beyond our most optimistic expectations. We have always known the potential of Miigen, but to have it recognised at this level is extraordinary.”

Craig founded Miigen with Campbell Ferrier, motivated by the emotional effects of parental loss.
