SHORTLY after expanding into the north of England, Scottish IT and telecoms consultancy FarrPoint has expanded its management team with the appointment of Gail Skinner as financial director.

She has more than 20 years’ experience in finance and advertising in Scotland’s digital sector, and has worked with companies such as Stripe Communications, the Leith Agency and Blonde Digital.

Skinner also manages her own consultancy, Purple Sapphire Ltd, and said she was impressed by the drive and innovation shown by Farrpoint and its plans for expansion.

Andrew Muir, co-founder and director of FarrPoint, said: “We’re very pleased to announce that Gail Skinner will be joining us on a permanent basis as financial director and a key member of the FarrPoint management team.

“We are seeing a great deal of growth just now, making the appointment of a financial director is essential for our future planning and expansion.

“Gail is extremely well qualified for the role, and we’re excited to have her on board.”

Skinner is a strong advocate of women in business and entrepreneurship, and spends her spare time working with several charities and practicing yoga.

Edinburgh-based FarrPoint advises organisations throughout the UK on telecoms, IT and technology. Earlier this year, the firm increased its foothold in the north east of England with the opening of an office in Manchester, along with the appointments of two new consultants.

The company also recently helped land successful bids for full-fibre funding in the Highland Council and Greater Manchester areas.

FarrPoint was established in Edinburgh more than ten years ago by Muir, Richard Parkinson and Calum Lamont, after the trio identified the need for an independent technology consultancy.

They quickly built up a team of experts and, as they went along, adding further skills to their offering – and their team now numbers 15.

FarrPoint works across the public and private sectors and has been engaged in a number of high-profile projects, with clients including Kwik Fit, Total and Clarks.
