I YESTERDAY viewed Jo Coburn’s political slot on the BBC featuring the Growth Commission’s report.

Her invited contributors were Andrew Wilson, chairman of the Commission, and Pamela Nash of Scotland in Union. The total time devoted to their discussion, determined by Coburn, could not have been more than 15 minutes, which considering the importance of the subject was woefully inadequate. Pamela Nash was rash enough to qualify her comments by admitting that these were being made after glancing at the report “for about 20 minutes”.

The presentation by Coburn was frankly preposterous and demonstrated the familiar BBC trivial treatment of similar subject matter. Full marks to Andrew Wilson, however, for preventing Coburn’s frequent attempts to interrupt him.

The BBC cannot escape assertions of its naked prejudice towards anything concerning Scottish independence aspirations. Considering however that the values of Scottish matters broadcast by BBC are a mere fraction of the monies collected, and the lowest proportion of same across the whole of the UK, w We should not be surprised, only angry! Let’s hope independence will bring the overdue remedy!
