BARCELONA legend Andres Iniesta is pictured alone in the Nou Camp just hours after brining his Barca career to an end.

The 34-year-old Spaniard said goodbye to the club he has played for over the last 16 years as he sat in the centre circle until 1am on the back of the Catalan club's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad.

Fans created a display which read 'forever Iniesta' during the match, a tribute to the man who won 22 major titles in red and blue.

These incredible pictures show the Barcelona captain in a private moment of contemplation inside the 99,354 seater stadium ahead of his expected big money move to China after the summer.

Speaking last night, he said: "This is a difficult day but I have spent 22 marvellous years here.

"It's been a pride and a pleasure to defend and represent this badge, which for me is the best in the world.

"Thanks to all my team-mates, each and every one. I will miss you all so much. And thank you to the fans, for all your love, everything you've made me feel since I arrived here as a boy. I leave as a man. I will keep you in my heart forever."
