MORE than 10,000 Scots took to the streets of Glasgow yesterday for a record-breaking Kiltwalk.

The Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk saw 10,063 walkers raise £2 million for charity.

Funds raised will receive a 40 per cent boost from The Hunter Foundation with the money going to the 600 Scottish charities taking part.

Sir Tom Hunter said: “This goes to the heart of what Scotland is all about – caring for one another.

“It doesn’t stop here. I encourage everyone to follow the lead of those who walked today and sign-up to take part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk in June, our St Andrews to Dundee walk in August and the final Kiltwalk of the year in Edinburgh in September.”

Doddie Weir, a rugby player with motor neurone disease was joined by boxing hero Charlie Flynn and STV’s Sean Batty to cheer on walkers at the Glasgow Green starting point.
