BREWDOG took aim at Scotland's reliably cheap beer on Twitter today...and got their ass handed to them in the ensuing punch-up.

The pricey "punk" beer took aim at Tennent's Lager (the beer yer actual punks are likely to drink) in the name of "Wednesday Wisdom", a Twitter trend where users share a little bit of insight every week.

In a post aiming to shower enlightenment on their followers, BrewDog listed everything they recommended doing instead of drinking Tennents.

The National:

"Anything else" was the only option.

Not to be outdone, Tennents hit back, not with anger or outrage, but with a flippancy that firmly put BrewDog in their place.

Ouch.

BrewDog later deleted the tweet after being hammered online by critics, and maybe upon realising that they had been outclassed by the Glasgow brewery.

Choose your battles, folks.
