HEARD the one about the comedian who thought it would be funny to wake up Andy Murray from his beauty sleep?

Fortunately Britain’s greatest-ever tennis star saw the funny side of things when Michael McIntyre played a prank on him for Sport Relief 2018.

As the twice Wimbledon tennis champion slept soundly, Andy was woken by McIntyre to take part in Michael’s Midnight Gameshow for a sketch that will air on the night of Sport Relief 2018 this Friday, March 23, on BBC One.

Months in the planning and with the help of Andy’s team and family, Michael surprised the unsuspecting suspect as he was training and staying at St George’s Park, as he continues his comeback from injury.

Michael crept into the room with a camera crew and once inside abruptly woke Andy who was given the shock of his life.

As is tradition, this special edition for Sport Relief sees a number of famous faces challenging Andy to answer quiz questions in the now not-so-privacy of his bedroom.

Andy said: “When I went to sleep, Michael McIntyre was the last person I expected to see at the foot of my bed in the middle of the night! Once I got over the initial shock and managed to wake up, I had fun and it is great that it will help to raise money for such a good cause.”

Michael said: “The minute the idea was mentioned I knew we had to make this happen. Thankfully Andy saw the funny side and he was a great sport throughout.”
