SCOTTISH Labour have just made one of the worst spelling mistakes possible at the party's conference in Dundee.

With Richard Leonard on stage at the time, Labour proudly went about the business of its "Keir Hardy" awards.

Apparently, nobody at Scottish Labour had realised that the founder of the Labour Party and its first leader, himself a Scot, was actually called "Keir Hardie". Leonard is a secretary of the Keir Hardie Society.

Not only that... the typo was splashed on a massive screen in huge letters behind those on stage, so there really was no getting away from it.

It came after a morning of car crash interviews, the UK leader being mocked for a factual error in briefing notes given to journalists, and being put on the defence after members were denied a vote on Brexit.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon responded to the typo, tweeting: "OMG!"

Given that this is day one of three of the conference, make sure to stay tuned to find out how they manage to top this one.
