David reveals to the police that Linh thought the killer was a woman, and Kip and Nathan interview Fatima at Harsfleet, with MI5 operative Sam Spence in attendance, where she claims Abdullah was killed because he had an explosive piece of information.

THE Scottish sitcom is fast becoming must-see TV thanks to its sharp scripts and wonderful performances from such cast members as Arabella Weir, Alex Norton, Doon Mackichan and Elaine C Smith. This week, it’s time for Beth to celebrate her birthday, and her son Ian and his boyfriend Gordon want to help her do so in style by taking her and Eric out for a slap-up meal. Typically, Christine decides to gatecrash the event. A drunken Colin – alone as Cathy is away at a spa – stumbles in and also joins the party, whether the revellers want him to or not. To make matters worse, Christine tries to take over the event, while the fact that customers can choose have two courses for £7.95 looks set to cause problems.

The X-Files, Channel 5, 9pm
IN a rural Virginian community, Arkie Seavers appears to see himself in the back of the crowd at a concert and flees the event, only to have his doppelganger grab the wheel and drive him into a tree. Mulder learns of the case and links it to a number of incidents in which people tried to kill themselves after claiming they saw someone who looked exactly like them. His and Scully’s inquiries lead them to a patient at a psychiatric hospital, who claims she is playing games of hangman with her brother, who lives across town.
