SCOTLAND’S national agency for craft has launched a new digital marketplace.

The Craft Scotland Marketplace offers contemporary craft sold directly from makers who live and work in Scotland.

Featuring jewellery, furniture, ceramics, textiles, fashion, homewares and accessories, the product pages allow visitors to delve into the story behind each piece.

Featured makers include accessories label Helen Ruth which makes digitally printed silk and wool scarves that are hand-finished in Scotland. Heather McDermott’s delicate and colourful jewellery pieces are inspired by the shoreline of her homeland in Skye and Catherine Aitken’s bags and accessories work with heritage cloths of Scotland including Harris Tweed.

Edinburgh-based designer Niki Fulton said: “Craft Scotland is a long established and highly respected organisation with a strong reach not only here in Scotland but around the world. It’s exciting to see my work sitting alongside some of Scotland’s most talented designers and makers. Craft Scotland [has] carved out an online ‘go to’ position for people looking for high quality contemporary Scottish craft, so I am very happy to be a part of this new venture.”
