A GLASGOW-BASED charity is to take its sport photography exhibition to the Scottish Parliament.

Anas Sarwar, Scottish Labour’s shadow cabinet secretary for health, has invited Achieve More! Scotland to bring its recent photography exhibition Raising the Game to Parliament in April.

Shot and curated by photographer Elaine Livingstone, the exhibition highlights the success stories of the young people that Achieve More! Scotland provides free sports, coaching, empowerment and employability programmes for. Raising the Game has just finished a two-week run in the Merchant City.

Sarwar, who has sponsored the exhibition, said: “The charity started off with providing after-school activities for a handful of children with a game of five-a-side football in Yoker as a way to combat anti-social behaviour in the Kingsway Court area in Scotstoun back in 2009.

“They have now expanded their free football and dance programmes dramatically. Delivering across 30 different communities, in 40 venues across the north side of Glasgow, with 82 different nationalities taking part, they now coach 2500 young people each week.”
