THIS week’s edition of the Alex Salmond Show – broadcast today on RT – is to join in with the celebration of Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns.

To mark the occasion, the former first minister will recite the first stanza of the Bard’s epic poem Tam O’Shanter, while Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh will interview songwriter Ryan Joseph Burns – who will also perform his own new arrangements of both Ae Fond Kiss and A Man’s a Man For A’ That.

In addition, Salmond will examine the putative alliance developing between the House of Lords and the Scottish and Welsh parliaments that aims to put a spoke in the wheel of the UK Government’s Brexit Bill. Leading Eurosceptic William Cash MP will be interviewed alongside Scottish MP Tommy Sheppard and Welsh counterpart Liz Saville-Roberts.

Meanwhile, the Alex Salmond Unleashed Stage Show has announced its spring programme of venues.

The show ran for 19 performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe before embarking on a further five shows on a mini tour last autumn.

Now a spring programme has been announced covering Dundee, Inverness, Linlithgow, Glasgow and London. The London show will include an interview with special guest Alistair Campbell.
