EDINBURGH Airport has revealed Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) as its corporate charity for 2018.

The SCAA is Scotland’s only charity air ambulance and forms an integral part of the country’s front-line emergency response network, working in partnership with the Scottish Ambulance Service.

The airport works with a different charity every year, with more than £65,000 donated to 2017’s partner Children 1st.

There were 40 applications to become 2018’s charity of the year, with the majority of staff voting for SCAA in a secret ballot.

David Craig, chief executive of SCAA, said: “It’s tremendous to be associated with the country’s busiest airport and join a prestigious line-up of charities to enjoy this amazing fundraising support.”

Based at Perth Airport, SCAA can be airborne within five minutes and is capable of reaching 90 per cent of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes.
