SCOTLAND’S leading makeup college Glamcandy has become the UK’s largest and fastest growing of its kind.

Founded in 2011, the multi-award winning school teaches students of all ages valuable skills.

From those with a passion for makeup to those who are seeking to build professional careers, Glamcandy is professionally equipped to excel and improve students’ skills.

Managing director Hayley Harvey-Smith explains: “We believe in giving our students the best possible experience and education and aim to equip them with skills that will stay with them for life.”

Working alongside prestigious makeup brand Illamasqua, the school offers beginner makeup classes and specialised courses in areas such as bridal, fashion and editorial makeup.

This year Glamcandy launched the first SQA-approved makeup class at Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes and also has plans to roll out the SQA course at two Edinburgh-based schools in 2018, with plans to take the course to Aberdeen in the near future.

Harvey-Smith says: “Our students grow in confidence as they take on new challenges. It has been inspiring and we can’t wait to take that in to other schools in the coming months and years.”

Now recognised as the number one makeup school in Scotland, Glamcandy has further ambition to become the go-to makeup college brand in the UK.

To help achieve this, Glamcandy has partnered with entrepreneur Julian Kynaston — the man behind the Illamasqua makeup range.

Kynaston provided investment in the college which will allow them to expand their range of professional makeup courses across the UK.

Subsequently, the investment will also create 40-50 new jobs as the brand continues to grow.

Harvey-Smith says: “This investment is a huge boost to Glamcandy and represents a massive vote of confidence in what we have built here and we’re excited to take our brand and our knowledge across the UK.”
