A NEW Scottish graphic design studio has hit the ground running by winning a contract for the branding of Glasgow International 2018, the city’s biennial festival.

Cause and Effect, which was set up by Ed Watt, former creative director of O Street, and Kerr Vernon, founder of Kerr Vernon Graphic Design, beat off competition from five other UK studios to win the prestigious account.

Watt said: “We are delighted that Glasgow International is our first commission. It’s a high profile project and a real vote of confidence from new GI director Richard Parry, who has a fantastic vision for 2018.

“We hope this will be one of many enabling us to achieve our aim of creating a world-class design studio.”

Vernon added: “Beautiful design is critical to how the public perceives an organisation but, of course, it must be functional too.

“Cause and Effect is about bringing our combined expertise to people as passionate about their business as we are design.”
