INTERNATIONAL group ICR’s move to Aberdeen Energy Park that was announced yesterday is being seen as confirmation that the oil and gas industry in and around the city is recovering.

ICR is a global provider of integrated maintenance and integrity solutions to the oil, gas power, chemical, nuclear and defence industries. The company has signed a 15-year lease for new headquarters at Unit H2, Claymore Avenue, in Aberdeen Energy Park.

The new 16,000 sq ft facility is owned by Moorfield Real Estate Fund III and includes 11,000 sq ft of warehouse space and 5000 sq ft office accommodation, along with secure yardage and car parking.

ICR Group’s headquarters have been based at The Hub within the Aberdeen Energy Park since 2013 and the company said that “as part of the group’s continued growth strategy, integration to one large UK base shows further commitment to the North East oil and gas supply chain and workforce”.

Over the next couple of months, the company will relocate operations from six bases across Aberdeen into the custom designed new facility on the Aberdeen Energy Park.

Bill Bayliss, executive chairman of ICR Integrity Ltd, said: “We were seeking to consolidate our operations into one location. The convenient location of the Energy Park, combined with the high-quality facilities and adjoining yard space attracted us to the new unit.

“The facility meets our business requirements in the Aberdeen area and will support us to fully integrate our service offering, leverage our market-leading technical expertise as well as drive expansion.”

Mark Holmes of Moorfield Group said: “This deal is great news for the park and for the Aberdeen economy in general.

“Our confidence in the quality product offering at Aberdeen Energy Park has been rewarded with this letting. ICR is a high-calibre occupier and we look forward to the business continuing to prosper and grow at the park.”
